Berger-Seidle AquaSeal SmartStar 5.5L

Berger-Seidle's AquaSeal SmartStar is a 2-component, waterborne wood floor finish based on high-quality raw materials. Designed for high-traffic areas, it offers robust performance, excellent resistance, and user-friendly application - all at an exceptional value. Its efficient formula makes it a reliable choice for both residential and commercial settings where durability is key.

SmartStar is typically applied in 2 to 3 coats using a roller or brush. It is mixed at a 10:1 ratio with AquaSeal Hardener just before use. Once mixed, the solution has a pot life of approximately 2 hours, after which the performance of the dried film may decrease. During this time, it remains liquid but should not be stored airtight due to CO₂ release during curing.

Unlike solvent-based sealers, AquaSeal SmartStar should be applied in rich, even coats. Thin application is not recommended.

Drying time is generally 3–4 hours before the surface can be carefully walked on or sanded. Under standard conditions (23°C/50% RH), full load capacity is reached after 72 hours. Rugs and maintenance should be avoided for at least 7 days. To avoid excessive swelling pressure, only one coat of water-based lacquer per day is advised.

Recommended Primers:

• For standard priming: AquaSeal FlexPrimer

• For intensified color enhancement: AquaSeal ExoBloc or Classic BaseOil

Coverage:
Approx. 100–120 ml/m² per coat (8–10 m²/liter)

Storage & Transport:
Store in original, unopened containers in a cool, dry, frost-free environment. Shelf life is typically 12 months. Reseal hardener containers tightly after use.
