What is the difference between zirconia and aluminium oxide abrasives?

How do I know when to change my sanding belt or disc?

Change the abrasive when it stops cutting efficiently, leaves burn marks, or produces fine dust instead of shavings. A worn abrasive generates more heat and friction, which can damage the timber surface and clog the finish.
