WOCA Wood Lye is a mild, non‑corrosive primer designed for untreated or newly sanded interior woodwork, including floors, stairs, furniture, and panels. Applied as the first step in the finishing process, it minimises the natural yellowing of wood over time, reduces unwanted red or pink tones, and enhances the grain pattern. Depending on whether White or Grey is chosen, it creates a subtle whitewashed or driftwood effect that forms the foundation for a classic Scandinavian look.

Unlike bleach or paint, Wood Lye is a treatment that alters and stabilises the base colour of timber. It is suitable for all wood species and is especially effective for achieving lighter, cooler tones. On softwoods such as pine, it produces a gentler effect, while on tannin-rich species like oak it can reduce warm undertones and accelerate a natural patina. Results vary by species, so sampling is recommended.

Because Wood Lye is a primer only, it does not offer surface protection. To complete the system and lock in the desired look, the wood must be finished with a protective oil such as WOCA Master Color Oil or WOCA Diamond Oil Active, often in White or Extra White, which strengthens the colour effect and adds durability.

How to use:

1. Ensure the surface is untreated, clean, dry, and freshly sanded.
2. Stir thoroughly and apply Wood Lye evenly using a brush or pad applicator.

4. Finish with WOCA Master Color Oil or Diamond Oil Active within a few days to protect and complete the treatment.
