Frequently Asked Questions

What is the S2 coating?

S2 is Anchormark's proprietary anti-friction coating applied to the screw thread. It reduces driving torque by up to 30%, which means less splitting in dense Australian hardwoods and faster installation with less effort on your impact driver.

What is the difference between Standard, BLACK, and VINTAGE finishes?

Standard is the natural bright stainless finish. BLACK is a coated dark finish for dark timber species. VINTAGE has a weathered patina that blends with aged or greyed timber. All three are available in A4 316 stainless.

What are TTM screws for?

TTM (Timber-to-Metal) screws are bi-metal fasteners designed to fix timber decking boards directly to steel joists or battens. They have a self-drilling tip that penetrates steel without pre-drilling, and colour-matched timber heads for a clean finish.

Which grade do I need — A2 304 or A4 316?

A2 304 is suitable for most residential and commercial outdoor applications. Choose A4 316 for coastal properties within 1km of salt water, pool surrounds, or any high-chloride environment.

What driver bits do Anchormark screws use?

Anchormark uses Torx drive: TX10 for 3.5mm screws, TX15 for 4-4.5mm, TX20 for 5-5.5mm S2 screws, TX30 for 6mm Ruspert screws, TX40 for 8mm screws, and SIT20/SIT30 for TTM screws.
