AquaSeal CeramicStar Matt – 5.5 L (with Hardener)
Two component, water based, premium class polyurethane floor finish with ceramic technology.
AquaSeal CeramicStar is a high performance 2K water based PU finish for hardwood floors.
It has low viscosity for easy roller application and very high abrasion resistance thanks to ceramic components in the formula. Coated floors can typically be put back into use after about 12 hours under standard conditions.
CeramicStar is also suitable for renovation work and helps block old substances that may be present in the floor.
- Size: 5.5 L (includes hardener)
- Sheen in this deal: Matt only
- Coverage: approx. 10 m² per litre (depending on wood species and application method)
- Recommended primer: AquaSeal FlexPrimer
Mixing and application
- Mix AquaSeal CeramicStar with AquaSeal Hardener at a 10:1 ratio shortly before use
- Stir thoroughly, then allow the mix to rest for about 10 minutes before application
- Pot life is approximately 2 hours. The mixture may remain liquid longer, but should not be used after 2 hours as the dried film properties will be affected
- Only mix as much as you can use within the pot life. For smaller quantities, use the Berger Seidle 1 L mix bottle
- Apply a total of 3 coats by roller or brush
- Highly absorbent species such as beech, maple and ash must not be trowelled, only roller coated
Application tips
- Compared to conventional solvent based finishes, CeramicStar should be applied in slightly more generous coats
- Do not overwork or excessively spread the finish with the roller
Drying
- To avoid excessive swelling pressure in the wood, only one roller application per day is recommended so the timber can release absorbed water
- Under normal conditions (15–23 °C, normal humidity) the finish can be sanded and carefully walked on after about 3–4 hours
- Poor ventilation, low temperature, high humidity or thick coats will delay drying
- Under standard conditions the finished floor can usually be put into use after about 12 hours
- Do not cover with rugs or apply care products for at least 7 days
