Professional sanding abrasives from sia Abrasives and Berger-Seidle for timber floor preparation and finishing. The right abrasive sequence determines the quality of your final coat — from aggressive stock removal through to the fine scratch pattern that sealers and lacquers need for proper adhesion.
Choosing the Right Grit Sequence
A typical timber floor sanding job progresses through 3-4 grit stages: coarse (24-40 grit) for levelling and old coating removal, medium (60-80 grit) for smoothing, and fine (100-120 grit) for final preparation before sealing. Each stage removes the scratch pattern from the previous one.
