Berger-Seidle AquaSeal Floor Coating System

Berger-Seidle AquaSeal is the German manufacturer's water-based system for sanded timber floors, and this page gathers every AquaSeal product we stock: a primer and a sealer, 1K and 2K topcoats, trowel and cartridge fillers, and additives. Working within one system keeps the build simple: FlexPrimer lists its compatible AquaSeal topcoats, and the AquaSeal fillers are sanded back before coating with Berger-Seidle finishes. The range is aimed at trade floor finishers working on Australian hardwoods and oak, and GreenStar and both 2KPU lacquers are also approved for cork floors.

How to build an AquaSeal floor

• Prime or seal: AquaSeal FlexPrimer is a water-based acrylate primer that reduces edge bonding, with a neutral colour and medium grain enhancement. For most exotic species or stained floors, use AquaSeal ExoBloc, a 1K sealer with intense grain enhancement and a high blocking effect against wood ingredients. Over Classic ExpressStain, add ExoBloc Turbo at 1 part Turbo to 10 parts ExoBloc.
• High traffic and commercial: CeramicStar is a ceramic-reinforced 2K finish for high-traffic homes and demanding commercial projects, and it helps block old substances left in the timber when renovating. SmartStar is a 2K finish designed for high-traffic areas. Both mix 10:1 with AquaSeal Hardener and have a pot life of about 2 hours.
• Isocyanate-free 2K: GreenStar is a 2K finish that contains no isocyanate and, including its hardener, carries no hazard labelling under EU CLP rules. Once mixed, it has a pot life of at least 18 hours.
• 1K finishes: SmartHome suits normal traffic areas, EcoGold is the top-of-range 1K finish in the AquaSeal line-up and dries in 3 to 4 hours per coat, and NordicWhite gives a whitened look for medium traffic.
• Sheen: stocked sheens are ultra matt (CeramicStar, NordicWhite), matt (SmartHome, GreenStar), satin/matt (CeramicStar, EcoGold) and semi-gloss (CeramicStar, GreenStar). For a near-invisible result, 2KPU NaturalWhite is extremely matt.
• Gaps and joints: Pafuki is mixed with fine sanding dust to trowel-fill joints up to 2 mm. Wider joints and movement gaps take PAK-Stop coloured with PafukiPowder, and gaps in the surface and edge areas can take FlexFill from a cartridge.
